UP Oblation Run: Run for the Philippine Rivers

The annual Alpha Phi Omega Oblation Run was held last December 16, 2011 at the UP Palma Hall. This year, they partnered with Sagip Ilog Pilipinas Movement and aims to create awareness to save the Philippine rivers. I was tasked to shoot the event for an online publication. It was my first time attending the run and I can’t really describe how I felt that time. The place was really crowded with hundreds of people. When the run commenced, it also started to get chaotic. People were screaming and pushing to get a good view. And as usual, we media people were ready to fight for a spot for good shots. It was intense. It felt like rush hour in the MRT where people were pushing and pushing to get in the train and I just went with the flow of people. And my instinct was just to shoot and shoot no matter what. It was still a great experience feeling the rush and the adrenaline of a coverage like this. It has been a while since I have shot an event like this. Back in the days of anti Arroyo rallies when I was in the campus publication. So there, photos below are the product of my shots. Hope they turned out well. Warning: some photos contain sensitive material.
